ਬਸਕਿ: ਇਮਸ਼ਬ ਨਾਮਦੀ ਅਜ਼ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ।
ਸੋਖ਼ਤ ਮਹਿਫ਼ਲ ਚਸ਼ਮ-ਏ-ਆਤਸ਼ਬਰ-ਏ-ਸ਼ਮਾਹ।।
Baske: imshab nâmdi az intzâr,
sokht mehfil chashm-e-âtshbâr-e-shama’h.

ਅੱਜ ਰਾਤ ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਆਇਓਂ,ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿਚ
ਸਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਸਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅੱਖ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਫ਼ਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਸੁਟਿਆ ।
Tonight you came not and waiting for you,
The searing glow of candlelight scorched the multitude
