The name, Naad Pargaas, (ਨਾਦ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ) is delicately symbolic. Man has experienced the ultimate union of his consciousness with the “Sabda” consciousness either in the form divine music, the Naad or divine radiance, the Pargaas, and has tried to express it in a myriad ways. Signs of only these two modes of divine union can be seen on the spiritual path on which man has ever treaded. This name, thus, like the beads of a sacred rosary, strings together the spiritual experiences of man with the Sikh Spiritual tradition.

Naad Pargaas is constantly striving to interpret all experiences of life through the perspective of the “Sabda”. All the forms of arts and wisdoms that are prevalent on the earth are actually in search of a structure borne out of intensity of spiritual experiences arising from the “Sabda.”

Naad Pargaas considers Sabda-centred-academics to be an important part of the Sikh supplication. The philosophical contemplation borne out of spiritual wisdom, that itself is the fruit of pious devotion and constant remembrance the “Simran”, is endowed with immense creative appeal and logic is merely one of its modest components. Philosophies around the world constantly try to endure the ever changing faces of logic. Naad Pargaas, while acknowledging the mystique of the transformations that the pure philosophical spirit has undergone during its journey towards the “Sabda”, is continuously endeavouring to establish a philosophical system that is wakeful to the experiences of the “Sabda” and persistently dwells in divine experiences.

Naad Pargaas acknowledges superiority of the purity of the Sikh experience and engages in dialogue with philosophical systems of the world so that foundations of a Sikh civilization could be laid. Philosophical contemplation, creative imagination, an astute sense of aesthetics, etc. are elements that remain functional while laying the foundations of a civilization and it is out of these that science, literature, architecture, arts and culture are born. While keeping the history of Sikh philosophical tradition, modern academia and world philosophy in its unvarying observation, Naad Pargaas is humbly making an effort for building a Sikh civilization.
